Martinis are magic at the West 5, the liquid equivalent of Jackie Gleason’s string-and-chorus-laden, mood-enhancing Music, Martinis, and Memories. Served in chilled mondo martini glasses, these classy cocktails are artful ice breakers of the first order.

House specialties include the strawberry lemon drop (Stolichnaya Strasberi Vodka makes it!) and the Teq-osmopolitan (lime, a splash of cranberry and Sauza Conmemoritivo Tequila—pour favor, muchacho!).

And even if you don’t know the secret password, don’t hesitate to ask for a “member’s only” Chartreuse gimlet (Bombay Sapphire gin, Green Chartreuse Liqueur and a splash of lime juice).
